Swami Rama on Mantra Meditation

61 Points Relaxation(mind) Exercise

The first disk of the series will guide you through the sixty-one points of relaxation designed by Swami Rama, the founder of the Himalayan Institute. Using the power of visualization we will be stimulating both right and left hemispheres of the brain. This is achieved by moving a golden ball of light through your body and focusing on each of the marmastansas (points within the body similar to acupuncture or energy points). As you focus on each point it is important to think of the number associated with that point so that your analytical brain (left hemisphere) is activated. Then, by visualizing this brilliantly colored golden ball of light your creative brain (right hemisphere) will be activated. Let the video be your guide, teaching you how to focus on each point. The goal is to learn how to bring your awareness into each of these points. As you relax each point of the body amazing rejuvenating effects begin which cleanse the tissues and bring nutrients into that point of the body, thereby creating a natural healing effect. By completing all sixty-one points your body will begin to use its instinctual healing abilities allowing you to enter a deep meditation that can be used to assist you in your healing process no matter what type of healing you need. Allow the video to be your teacher and use it as a daily practice until you can focus on each point without its assistance. Then you will be ready for the next two steps.
